Scott Sterling, the son of Clippers owner Donald Sterling, had not been seen by family and friends for at least two days before he was found dead in his Malibu home, an official said Wednesday.
L.A. County Sheriff’s Department homicide detectives were called to a home in the 22600 block of Pacific Coast Highway about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday after the body of a 31-year-old man was found, authorities said. It was not immediately known who reported the death.
Sheriff’s Department spokesman Steve Whitmore confirmed it was the body of Scott Sterling, the son of the Clippers owner and real estate mogul. The body was found alone, and friends and family had not seen Scott Sterling for a couple of days, Whitmore said.
Investigators were looking into the death as a possible drug overdose, Whitmore said. It will be several weeks before a cause of death is determined, pending toxicology tests, Whitmore added.
