New storm plunges snow level to 3,500 feet in L.A. area

A new rainstorm moved into Southern California on Sunday, dropping the snow level to 3,500 feet and bringing 50 mph winds to some areas.
According to the National Weather Service, the storm could cause problems on mountain roads and passes, including Interstate 5 through the Grapevine and Angeles National Forest.
The storm could dump up to 4 inches of snow before moving out by Monday morning.
‘Strong winds will build into the area as the storm exits the region this evening. Northerly wind gusts between 40 and 50 mph will develop through and below favored north to northeast passes. The strongest winds will be in the mountains and the foothill,’ the NWS said. ‘This wind system will likely produce some of its strongest winds in the foothills of the San Gabriel Valley.
