On Monday, several local teams advanced to the Southern Section team finals, including Hart, which benefited immensely from the play of a couple freshmen.
Nikki Prichard, who was named an alternate last week for Thursday’s Northern Division Individual Regionals in Solvang, shot a team-low, four-over-par 76 to lead the Indians at River Ridge Golf Club. Classmate and Foothill League MVP Amanda Corr finished at 78 as the Indians took third overall with a combined score of 421.
Man, how good will the Indians be in a few years when these two are seniors? Along with another freshman, Brena Carlson, it’s kind of scary to think about how much they’ll be tearing up the course and the competition once they get a little more experience under their belts.
As expected, Dos Pueblos finished with a match-low 402 and Diamond Bar and La Reina also advanced. Here’s what the Daily News had to say about the windy day out in Oxnard.
