Boys’ basketball: Sylmar is moving to Division II

Sylmar, a long-time participant in Division I basketball in the City Section, will drop to Division II next season.
The final divisional break downs won’t be decided until schools have a chance to appeal their classifications.
Sylmar Coach Bort Escoto had several players sit out this past season after transferring. They will be eligible and could make the Spartans one of the favorites in Division II.
El Camino Real is expected to move from Division II to Division I.
