Commenting on the proposed sculptures for the Embarcadero Marina Park:
I view the proposed sculptures as obstructing an otherwise pleasant and open view from both the onshore and offshore sides.
Taking a large area of grassy open space to place these two works of art (?) would be an affront to all who come to enjoy the openness afforded the public. These two pieces would clutter up the view.
The symbolism of these two pieces escapes me, but being of a practical turn of mind, the monolith reminds me of a stake driven into the heart of an open space. As for the triangle, it reminds me of a giant Pac-Man gobbling up what’s left.
