A Libyan Jew living in Rome was shot to death in his jewelry store in what police said appeared to be the latest in a string of assassinations of expatriates ordered by Libya’s leader, Col. Moammar Kadafi. The body of Mordecai Fadlun, 50, was found in his shop, a silencer-equipped pistol nearby. Police said gold and a large amount of money were found untouched in an open safe. In Vienna, Ezzeddin Ghadamsi, former Libya ambassador to Austria, was reported in stable condition after being shot and severely wounded outside his Vienna villa last week.
