Former Schweiker Aide Named to Defense Post

WASHINGTON — David Newhall III has been named the Defense Department’s principal deputy assistant secretary for health affairs, the Pentagon announced Wednesday.
Newhall served as the chief aide to former Sen. Richard S. Schweiker (R-Pa.) for 18 years. From 1981 to 1983, he served as the chief of staff at the Department of Health and Human Services, when Schweiker was secretary.
