Long Beach Women Sweep Chapman

Cal State Long Beach swept a nonconference doubleheader from Chapman College, 1-0 and 3-2, in women’s softball action Thursday at Long Beach.
Sue Trobovitz’s RBI single in the bottom of the sixth gave the 49ers the win in the first game. Kim Lee got the complete-game win for Long Beach. Cathy Fisher suffered the loss.
Long Beach scored what proved to be the decisive run in second game on a bases-loaded walk to Terri Craft in the third inning, scoring Liz Mason. Sandy Winchester was the winning pitcher.
