DRAMATIST STOPPARD FINED FOR SPEEDING

TAUNTON, England — Playwright Tom Stoppard has been fined and banned from driving for a month after he admitted speeding at 104 m.p.h. on an expressway in Somerset.
The 47-year-old playwright was fined the equivalent of $67 in Taunton Magistrates’ Court. His play “Jumpers,” written in 1972, is being revived in London and is scheduled to open April 1.
