NBC SENDS MUSIC SPECIAL TO CHINA TV

A segment from NBC’s “Live From Studio 8H” series is scheduled to be telecast today in the People’s Republic of China as the first programming arrangement between NBC International and CCTV, Beijing, the official TV station of the People’s Republic of China.
The “Studio 8H” segment features soprano Leontyne Price and violinist Itzhak Pelman as soloists with the New York Philharmonic under the baton of Zubin Mehta.
On the program, Mehta offers a tribute to Arturo Toscanini, who led the NBC Symphony for 17 years, with many concerts originating from the network’s Studio 8H in New York.
