BARSTOW — Sheriff’s deputies in a helicopter today spotted the wreckage of a plane and dismembered bodies believed to be those of a Santa Monica dentist and his passenger.
A Cessna 210 was found at the 6,800-foot level of Clark Mountain in Sawtooth Canyon, said a San Bernardino County sheriff’s spokesman. Rescue crews had been searching for the dentist’s plane since Monday after Dr. Virgil Falldorf, 36, left Las Vegas en route to Santa Monica with Charlon Beller, also of Santa Monica, and failed to arrive.
