Potomac Power Plans Use of Landfill Gas

WASHINGTON — The Potomac Electric Power Co. said Monday that it is planning to use trash and landfill gas to generate electricity for its 550,000 customers in the nation’s capital, Maryland and Virginia.
The experimental program is aimed at cutting utility rates and helping to reduce the need for landfills.
