College Softball : Makimoto and Silva Combine for Perfect Game

Santa Ana College softball pitchers Chris Makimoto and Lani Silva combined to throw a perfect game in nonconference play against San Bernadino College Monday, as the Dons (18-1) beat the Indians, 11-0, at Santa Ana.
Makimoto (9-0) pitched four innings, and Silva pitched the top of the fifth. The game was called after 4 1/2 innings due to the 10-run rule.
In other junior college action:
Cypress 1, Riverside 0--Pitcher Suzi Sharum (6-4) allowed the Pirates just two hits on her way to the shutout.
Fullerton 4, Moorpark 0--Freshman Lisa Walczy threw a four-hitter to lead the Hornets past the Raiders at Moorpark. Left fielder Darlene Trenary homered in the fifth inning for Fullerton (16-2).
In college action:
Nebraska 6-5, Chapman College 1-0--The Panthers (6-26) summoned just seven hits in the doubleheader against the Cornhuskers (3-7) at Chapman.
The first game was a four-hitter by Cornhusker pitcher Donna Seardoff, and Nebraska’s Mori Simmons gave up only three hits in the second game.
