SAN DIEGO — Koi Wooten, a sophomore who led Palomar College to the Pacific Coast Conference women’s basketball championship last season, has been selected for an all-star team that will play in the Orient this summer.
The squad will compete against the Hong Kong Amateur Basketball Assn.’s national team in late June and early July.
Wooten, a 6-foot forward from Crenshaw High School, averaged 19 points and 15 rebounds per game in the 1984-85 season. She was named to the All-PCC first team for her efforts.
Wooten must raise $1,595 to cover her expenses on the trip. She says she hopes to defray the costs with contributions.
