E. Germany to Open Nazi Camp Museum

EAST BERLIN — East Germany will open a new museum at the site of the Nazis’ Buchenwald concentration camp to mark the 40th anniversary of the end of World War II, the official ADN news agency said Tuesday.
ADN said the museum will display documents, photos and artifacts related to life in the wartime concentration camps and to anti-Nazi activities.
There is a smaller museum already at the site, the agency said.
More than 250,000 prisoners were sent to Buchenwald between 1937 and 1945, ADN said. About 65,000 Jews, anti-Nazi Germans and other people from German-occupied nations were put to death.
