Culver City-based Ashton-Tate said it expects to report improved profits for fiscal 1986 ending Jan. 31, on a revenue increase of 40% to 50% . . . Chris-Craft Industries and United Television said they are delaying for about 90 days their effort to reach a merger agreement because their directors “have concluded that the present is not the opportune time to submit this proposal for approval by United TV shareholders.” . . . Shamrock Capital, a limited partnership led by the Roy E. Disney family, said it has commenced its previously reported tender offer for all of the outstanding shares of Central Soya for $24.25 per share.
