COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State and Notre Dame will resume their football series in 1995. Rick Bay, Ohio State athletic director, and Gene Corrigan, his Notre Dame counterpart, announced the renewal Friday.
“The renewal of this series is long overdue,” Bay said. “These are two schools from neighboring states with great football traditions. They should be playing each other.”
The teams will play at Columbus Sept. 30, 1995, and at South Bend, Ind., Sept. 28, 1996.
The Irish won both previous games between the two schools, defeating the Buckeyes, 18-13, at Columbus in 1935 and then scoring a 7-2 victory the following year at South Bend.
