The Times article titled “Large Firms, Government Unite to Fund Child-Care Services” on March 21 states that Union Bank “is believed to be the first Los Angeles company to offer its employees child care at the site of employment.” Actually, there are a number of hospitals in the Los Angeles area that have on-site child care, and Inglewood-based Centinela Hospital Medical Center was the first to build a facility specifically for that purpose.
