A Float in the Mission Viejo Parade
Many of the teens of the Saddleback Valley worked many weeks and hours on a float for the Mission Viejo St. Patrick’s Day Parade, sponsored by the Teen Center and featuring a rock ‘n’ roll band, First Cause. Various businesses in the community supported the effort and the band donated its time.
All of this work by the teens created a unique and colorful float. The band members wore red pants and black and white T-shirts. The teens accompanied the float and really contributed to getting those along the parade route involved in the music.
It is disconcerting to us as adults to see all of this spirit and work reduced to an erroneous sentence in The Times depicting the band and float in a negative light.
