10-Screen Theater Complex Being Planned for Van Nuys

A San Francisco-based movie theater developer plans to open a 10-screen theater complex in Van Nuys within the next two years, a company official said last week.
Syufy Enterprises hopes to locate the complex on Victory Boulevard, but the official would not disclose the location on the grounds that it would jeopardize negotiations.
The complex would add to a growing list of movie theaters planned in the Valley area, industry officials reported.
Mann Theatres Corp. plans to open a 10-screen theater at Universal Studios in Universal City late this year and is searching for a suitable location for a six-screen complex within a two-mile radius of La Reina Theatre in Sherman Oaks, which Mann sold to a shopping center developer.
And, in Burbank, local developer Victor Georgino hopes to construct a 10-theater development in downtown Burbank by next winter.
