Horse Gets Back Hialeah Crown

HIALEAH, Fla. — Chief’s Crown today was reinstated as the winner of the $250,000 Flamingo Stakes by racing experts who ruled unanimously that the horse did not affect the outcome of the March 30 contest when he drifted out of his lane. Stewards at the race had awarded the victory to Proud Truth, dropping Chief’s Crown to second and leaving Stephan’s Odyssey third.
