Lazers Clinch Quarterfinal Berth for Playoffs

The Lazers (24-22) clinched a quarterfinal berth in the Major Indoor Soccer League playoffs Wednesday night when Wichita lost, 6-2, to Cleveland, assuring the Lazers of third place in the Western Division.
The top three teams from each division advance directly to the quarterfinals, while the next four qualifiers must play in best-of-three wild-card series.
The Lazers travel to Las Vegas tonight to play the second-place Americans, and they close out the season Saturday in San Diego against the division-leading Sockers.
