Three nurses have been suspended for injecting an 84-year-old patient in an Auburn, N.Y., hospital with 10 times the amount of morphine prescribed by his doctor. The error left Carl Smith of Weedsport, N.Y., in an irreversible coma. The incident was the second case of a mistaken injection in a New York hospital within two months.
