Former Millikan High School track star Mike Tully, the American outdoor record holder in the pole vault, will compete at the Pepsi Invitational track meet May 18 at UCLA’s Drake Stadium.
Tully, 28, set the record last year with a vault of 19 feet, 1 inch at Eugene, Ore. He won a silver medal in last year’s Olympics with a vault of 18-6 1/2, second to the 18-10 of Pierre Quinon of France.
His opposition will include fellow Olympian Earl Bell, who finished in a tie for the bronze medal at the Olympics.
