Santa Monica Hospital Medical Center has received approval to open an ambulatory surgery center from the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development. Plans call for the center, which will perform surgeries and other medical procedures that do not require overnight hospitalization, to be located on the third floor of the hospital. It is expected to open by mid-1986.
