Reagan’s Visit to a German Cemetery
I am a veteran of World War II. I was three times wounded and decorated three times for bravery in combat in the European theater. I am a witness to Nazi atrocities.
I find it shocking that the President or any of his staff would consider honoring the barbarian soldiers of the criminal Third Reich. The documented atrocities were not exclusively of the SS, but were often standard procedure of the regular Wehrmacht, to say nothing of the German businesses that engaged in the deathly exploitation of slave labor.
Every aspect of German society was corrupted by the Third Reich--clergy, the lawyers, the doctors, the Red Cross, and certainly the military was degraded with their full cooperation into the popular Nazi regime.
