Texas will review murderer Henry Lee Lucas’ conflicting confessions but cannot afford the $120,000 requested by the state attorney general for a full-scale investigation, Gov. Mark White said. Lucas, who had confessed to 360 killings in 26 states and has been convicted of 10 killings in Texas, now says that the only person he killed was his mother. He said he confessed to the other crimes to embarrass law enforcement officials.
