The U.S. Agriculture Department said it will place shipping limits for the first time this season on California’s Valencia orange harvest. The government accepted a plan from the Los Angeles-based Valencia Orange Administrative Committee to allow shipment of 372 rail carloads from Southern California and 228 from the San Joaquin Valley for the week starting midnight today.
