Toshiba America Inc. of Irvine has been given the first Special Award for Medical Achievement by UC Irvine’s College of Medicine. Toshiba received the award for its advancements in medical technology.
Dr. Stanley van den Noort, dean of the College of Medicine, presented the award to Toshiba Corp. President Soichi Saba who is visiting from Japan in celebration of Toshiba America’s 20th anniversary. Among Toshiba’s achievements, the university said, are its medical imaging products, which include ultrasound, mobile X-Ray and radiation therapy equipment.
Wespac Investors Trust, a Newport Beach real estate investment trust, sold a three-story office building in Overland Park, Kan., for slightly more than $2 million.
Sale of the building, which was purchased in 1975 for $1.2 million, is part of the gradual liquidation of the real estate trust, one of three operated by Wespac Financial Corp.
