Algerian President Confers With Castro

HAVANA — Algerian President Chadli Bendjedid and Cuban President Fidel Castro held their first round of formal talks Saturday, focusing on problems facing the developing world, diplomatic sources said.
Bendjedid arrived in Havana on Friday night for an official three-day visit. He received a warm airport welcome from Castro who awarded him the Order of Jose Marti, the highest Cuban honor awarded to foreigners.
