STUTTGART, West Germany — A single-engine private plane flying in heavy fog crashed into a mountain, killing four Swiss businessmen aboard, police said Friday.
The Piper Aztec plane took off from a private airstrip outside Stuttgart last week and 20 minutes later crashed near the summit of a 2,310-foot mountain. A police statement said the only other occupant of the plane, the 25-year-old pilot, was admitted to a hospital in critical condition.
The businessmen were returning to Switzerland after a meeting in Heubach, east of Stuttgart in southwestern West Germany. The victims were not identified pending notification of families.
