Site Work Under Way at East Highlands Ranch

Underground utilities are being installed in preparation for construction at East Highlands Ranch, a planned community of 3,600 homes in East Highlands, at the foot of the San Bernardino Mountains just north of Redlands.
East Highlands Ranch Inc., a Mobil company, is master developer of the 965-acre community, which is expected to take 10 years to develop.
The first phase will include 189 single-family homes, 65 town houses and a recreational complex.
An old stone house that was a social center for workmen on the citrus ranch that once thrived on the site is being preserved.
