A 25-year-old San Clemente man died Sunday after he was thrown from his motorcycle on Interstate 5 north of Oceanside, the California Highway Patrol reported. A CHP spokeswoman said Karl J. Kunz III was headed north on the freeway near Las Pulgas Road at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the motorcycle, struck a curb and was thrown about 100 feet. A Border Patrol agent, giving assistance at another accident, spotted the motorcycle and discovered Kunz’s body on the east shoulder of the freeway just before 7 a.m.
