Quake Rattles Italy

L'AQUILA, Italy — An earthquake that registered 3.6 on the Richter scale spread panic in this Abruzzi mountain city northeast of Rome early Thursday, causing thousands of people to flee their homes and spend the remainder of the night in the open. But police said the new shock, the latest in a series in and around L’Aquila since Sunday, caused no casualties or damage to buildings.
