Saying he was putting to rest “persistent but unfounded” rumors, Assemblyman Peter Chacon (D-San Diego) announced Tuesday he will seek reelection to the Assembly in 1986. Chacon, who was unavailable for comment after the early announcement, has held the Assembly seat since 1970.
