Get Rid of It Safely

Residents as well as industries have problems with toxic waste--theirs in the form of leftover hazardous household materials such as paint, cleaners and pesticides that cannot be thrown into the trash or deposited at Orange County landfills.

Those and other toxic materials can be discarded on Saturday at the county transfer station No. 3 at Douglas Road and Katella Avenue in Anaheim, where the county will be staging its second toxic roundup day.

The county was pleasantly surprised at its first roundup day in Huntington Beach last April, when 270 55-gallon drums of toxic materials were brought in for transfer to a Santa Barbara treatment plant.

We urge all residents to take advantage of the new opportunity to safely dispose of the hazardous waste that shouldn’t be left around the house or illegally dumped into the environment.
