Corporate raider Carl C. Icahn, who is trying to take over Trans World Airlines for $24 per share, said he acquired the additional shares between June 3 and Monday for about $59.8 million. Texas Air, which needs TWA shareholder approval for competing its $23-per-share offer, said it was “reviewing the situation” and declined comment on Icahn’s increased stake. Icahn has said he will vote his shares against the Texas Air proposal. TWA also declined immediate comment.
