Record 2d Quarter Trade Deficit

WASHINGTON — The United States suffered a record merchandise trade deficit of $33.4 billion from April through June, a 12.8% rise from the first three months of the year, the government reported today.
The Commerce Department said the further deterioration in the country’s trading performance stemmed primarily from a plunge in exports of both agricultural and non-agricultural products.
