The City Council approved tentative selection of a San Pedro bank subsidiary as developer for two rent-subsidized senior housing projects with a total 93 units. BSP Development Corp., a subsidiary of the Bank of San Pedro, will be the developer.
The projects, estimated to cost $2.3 million, will be built on city-owned land at 160th Street and Sombra Avenue, and 153rd Street and Condon Avenue--both near interchanges of the San Diego Freeway. The two projects will be two-story buildings with Mediterranean-style architecture and will include individual outdoor areas, laundry facilities, elevators and security. Rents will be $325 and $375. The council authorized the Lawndale Housing Authority to negotiate a contract with the development company.
