William L. Gladstone was named chairman of Arthur Young & Co., the international tax, accounting and management consulting firm.
Jesse M. Miles was also appointed deputy chairman-international and chairman of the management council of Arthur Young International, the worldwide organization, company officials said.
Gladstone will assume his new post Oct. 1, retaining his responsibilities as managing partner. He will succeed William S. Kanaga, who will retire.
The new chairman joined Arthur Young in 1951 and was elected to the partnership in 1963. He became managing partner in 1981.
Miles joined the company in 1954 and was elected to the partnership in 1963, while serving in international tax practice. He has been Arthur Young’s vice chairman-international since 1980.
