The Back on Broadway restaurant has offered to serve a free lunch at 1 p.m. Friday to a group of 12 recovering mentally ill patients after another Santa Monica restaurant allegedly refused to serve them.
The City of Santa Monica last week filed a lawsuit against the College Cafe on Pico Boulevard charging that it refused to serve the group, whose members live in a nearby community-care facility called The Manor. The cafe owners have denied the charges.
