Beverly Hills Wins Praise for Assistance

San Luis Obispo Mayor Melanie C. Billig has signed a resolution thanking the Beverly Hills Fire Department and other Southern California firefighters for their “courage and dedication” in fighting the Las Pilitas fire that threatened her city on July 8.
“Three-thousand residents were evacuated in a cooperative and timely manner and were able to return to their homes the next day,” Billig wrote. There was minor damage to one house.
