Mike Murray, who had launched and directed Apple Computer’s Macintosh marketing campaign, will resign as manager of marketing communications this fall. The one-time close associate of Chairman Steven P. Jobs had his responsibilities diminished earlier this year in the same management overhaul that removed Jobs from active management. Murray will remain a consultant to the Cupertino-based firm after his resignation becomes effective Oct. 1.
