“I think there’s a very high probability that they (Gannett) will,” Ralph H. Booth II said when asked if he expected Gannett to propose such a deal at a meeting of Evening News Assn. directors today. “We would certainly be pleased to see Gannett make an offer,” said Booth, president of Booth American, which owns nearly 5% of the Detroit-based firm’s shares.
