Seven Americans still held hostage in Lebanon will be the subject of a “Prayer for Freedom” at the Westminster Civic Center on Friday.
The family of David Jacobsen of Huntington Beach, as well as relatives of the other hostages--Terri Anderson, Thomas Sutherland, Peter Kilburn, William Buckley, the Rev. Benjamin Weir and the Rev. Lawrence Jenco--have been invited, but it was not known Tuesday if they will attend.
The Marine Corps marching band from Camp Pendleton and a color guard from El Toro Marine Corps Air Station will start the ceremony at 2:30 p.m. A painting featuring the seven hostages will be on display, and seven rose bushes will be planted during the event.
A helicopter from the Los Alamitos Armed Forces Reserve Center will fly low over the Civic Center at 3:30 p.m. in a “fly-by” salute to the hostages.
