Fast Service

On Wednesday, Aug. 7, 1985, at 3:10 p.m., I presented my expired passport with application for new passport at the Passport Service office in the Federal Building at Wilshire Boulevard near the San Diego Freeway. I was told the new passport would be mailed in about three weeks.
On Friday, two days later, at 2:30 p.m. the new passport was delivered to my home in Northridge. I don’t know how in the world this feat was accomplished, but my hat is off the to the State Department’s Passport Service and to the Postal Service.
So many complaints are made about government services, it seems appropriate to air a well-deserved compliment.
