A federal judge ruled in Polaroid’s favor.

A U.S. District judge in Massachusetts upheld the validity of seven of 10 patents involved in a patent infringement lawsuit. The judge also ruled that all seven patents had been infringed upon by Eastman Kodak, Polaroid said. The suit, filed in 1976, charged that Kodak’s manufacture, use and sale of instant cameras and instant print film infringed on a number of Polaroid’s U.S. patents. Polaroid sought injunctions to prevent the sales, treble damages and costs and other relief. Kodak officials were unavailable for comment.
