Pitcher Steve Howe contacted the Minnesota Twins on the third day of an unexplained absence and said he will return to the team today.
Howe, the former Dodger who was suspended from baseball last year while recovering from a drug problem, missed a five-game weekend series in Cleveland.
“Steve Howe has contacted Andy McPhail (Twins’ player personnel director) this morning,” Manager Ray Miller said. “He is OK and will meet with the manager and club officials tomorrow (Monday) afternoon.”
