A Riverside man and a Fresno woman have been appointed as the public members of the Board of Governors of the State Bar. Named by Gov. George Deukmejian were Gilberto Olivarria and Glee Ewell. Olivarria, 41, is a Riverside police lieutenant and an unsuccessful 1984 Republican candidate for the Assembly. He replaces Joon Hee Rho of Pasadena, whose term expired. Ewell, 50, is secretary-treasurer of the Fresno Regional Foundation and a former high school teacher. She replaces George Couch III of Aptos, whose term expired. Board members receive $50 for each meeting day plus expenses. Their terms expire in September, 1988. They must be confirmed by the state Senate within a year.
