Convicted murderer-rapist William Archie Fain, 40, who was paroled from prison two years ago despite a storm of public protest, was seized by two San Jose residents who said they caught him peeping into their neighbor’s bedroom window. Fain spent nearly 16 years in prison for the 1967 murder of a high school student and rape of three young women in Stanislaus County.
